Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) has appointed Paul Kennedy MBE as the new Exhibition Director of EIBTM, the exhibition for Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings taking place in Barcelona from 30 November to 2 December. Paul, will replace Debbie Jackson who has overseen EIBTM`s move to Barcelona and will now head up a new project within RTE details of which will be announced shortly. Paul will take up his position on 1 November working alongside Debbie up until the 2004 show and will also oversee the other MICE events in Reed Travel Exhibition`s (RTE) portfolio: AIME and LACIME.
Tom Nutley, Chairman of Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) said: Congratulations are in order for both Paul and Debbie. Debbie has done an excellent job of overseeing the move of EIBTM to Barcelona, with the event ahead of targets in terms of sales by 6% and the
fact that the Hosted Buyer programme was oversubscribed six months ahead of the event. I wish Debbie well in her new position within the RTE portfolio and I look forward to celebrating similar success with her again in the future.
Paul Kennedy`s appointment is further demonstration of the fact that RTE continues to attract the best talent in the industry. As a board member of MPI, and current Chairman of the Meetings Industry Association, Paul`s dedication to the Meetings and Incentives industry has been unparalleled. Paul was voted the UK`s meetings and incentive industry personality of the year 2001 by M & IT magazine, a year in which he was presented with the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
