FreshAer.com, the new low-cost international airline is instituting legal action against satellite broadcaster  BskyB, in response to their recent programme trailers for spoof series `Mile High`. The series, which satirises the airline industry, features `Fresh!`, a mythical airline and FreshAer.com are unhappy at the confusion this may cause.

“This Sky satire series is potentially detrimental to our business and the continuing success of our Private Investment Placement” commented Colin Gervaise-Brazier, Chairman of FreshAer.com. He continued “We have no desire to take legal action but cannot allow our brand to be harmed in the name of TV entertainment”.

The company is currently completing a funding exercise to raise £15 million through a private equity placement to supplement the company`s institutional investors. Designed to exploit the massive growth in the low cost sector, the Irish based carrier, who will be flying a fleet of Boeing 757-200s has a number of tricks up its sleeve to gain market share “Although we will always be very competitive on price, FreshAer.com passengers will have a more comfortable experience than with our competitors – with more legroom, quality in-flight catering and a modern fleet” commented Gervaise-Brazier.

The airline has initially secured guaranteed slots on routes between Dublin, Cork, Kerry & Knock to 4 UK locations with plans for expansion into mainland Europe. FreshAer.com tickets will go on sale in April with first flights departing on July 1, 2003.
