As part of the supporting programme of the ITB 2004, PATWA (Pacific Area Travel Writer`s Association) is staging its World Summit of Leading Tourism Experts on 13 March from 10 a.m. to 12 midday at the International Congress Center ICC Berlin. Major international tourism organisations along with tourism ministers from many countries in the Asia/Pacific region will be taking part in the PATWA Seminar.



For the first time this seminar will investigate the subject of Space Tourism in greater depth. Immediately preceding the ITB 2004 the PATWA Secretary General, Mr. Sagar Ahluwalia, drew attention to the seminar and pointed out that 50 well-known figures from the tourism industry in many countries will be attending and making an important contribution to the discussions with their invaluable experience. He is expecting tourism ministers from the Asia/Pacific region to be strongly represented, especially from countries such as India, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, the Maldives and the Seychelles. The Secretary General emphasised that he also expected the World Summit to provide a lively debate about the marketing of cultural monuments and to provide a new perspective on the international tourism industry.
