Tourism organization to close three offices abroad

Canada, Spain and Australia will soon be without Hellenic Tourism Organization offices, according to a high-level organization executive, but soon the same organization will inaugurate new offices in China, Cyprus and Egypt. In countries where offices are to be closed, the organization will set up one of its employees within the Greek embassy there.

In the meantime, the organization`s secretary general, Evgenios Yiannakopoulos, predicts that tourism arrival<.>s to Greece will increase annually by 5% to 7% up to the year 2004.

To ensure a good part of the increase materializes, the organization begins a 7-billion-drachma advertising campaign this November. The campaign begins in the UK, just a few days prior to the World Travel Market `99 tourism fair in London….
