Vernicos<.> Yachts, which is owned by one of the oldest and most prominent Greek shipping families with more than a century of experience in the field, got hold of a major stake in the Liberian Free Holdings Company. The latter foreign company is sole owner (100 percent) of the Handymax boat company M/V Free Atlas transport bulk carrier, capacity 39.300 DWT. For the acquisition, said to equal some 51 percent, the company used former company earnings. The announcement of the acquirement was made following a session on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) last week. The firm, considered as one of the leaders in bareboat yacht charters and one of the top chatterers of crewed yachts in the Eastern Mediterranean area,, has bases in Alimos Marina, Lavrio Marina, as well as islands of Rhodes, Corfu, Kos, Samos, Skiathos and Lefkada, effectively covers most of Greece`s yachting needs.
