World Travel Market has teamed up with Travel Channel to broadcast regular `prime time` evening updates from the leading business event across more than 80 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Travel Channel will be reporting on the latest exhibitor stories, new developments and key issues every evening throughout World Travel Market week (10 – 13 November) from London`s ExCeL.

The link-up also means a new fun focus on the thrills and excitement of the growing adventure holiday sector with a new game show for travel agents on World Travel Market`s stage, hosted by a television celebrity.

Competitors on the Adventure Game will battle it out for the adventure holiday prizes.

Fiona Jeffery, Group Exhibition Director said that the new association would provide valuable additional consumer coverage of the leading event without allowing holidaymakers admission to the strictly business-only global event.

We are delighted to be developing a partnership with Travel Channel as it offers our exhibitors the opportunity to increase their consumer awareness with exciting new communications opportunities targeting holidaymakers, while at the same time participating in a global business marketplace.

Allowing consumers to attend World Travel Market would be detrimental to the unique business environment that is so much part of its success over the years.

However, it is important that holidaymakers understand the significance and importance of the business conducted over the four days at World Travel Market and its key influences in helping to decide future holiday trends and preferences.

The four ten-minute reports will be broadcast between 8-9 pm UK time every evening after World Travel Market. A 30-minute programme will also be produced on the event and broadcast in December 2003.

Travel Channel Commercial Director, Gary Wardrope said: As a leading international broadcaster and producer of travel and lifestyle programming, Travel Channel is proud to be a major partner of World Travel Market. Our production team will be filming daily, both at our stand and around the exhibition halls for our viewers with updates on the channel every evening, industry stories and all the excitement of the event as well as a subsequent programme broadcast the following month.
