JetBlue and Royal Air Maroc partner to bring more access to Africa

Travellers now can book single-ticket travel combining flights on both carriers and enjoy one-stop baggage check-in when they transfer between the airlines at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

NEW YORK and CASABLANCA, MOROCCO – JetBlue Airway, New York’s Hometown Airline, and Royal Air Maroc, the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Morocco, announced the launch of an interline agreement to connect each other’s networks and bring new flight options to travellers between Africa and the Americas.

Through the arrangement, effective immediately, travellers can book single-ticket travel combining flights on both carriers and enjoy one-stop baggage check-in when they transfer between the airlines at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Tickets are available for sale through travel agencies and Royal Air Maroc’s reservations call center.

JetBlue is the largest domestic airline at JFK, where Royal Air Maroc offers daily nonstop service to its hub at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport, Africa’s fourth busiest airport. Travellers can connect onward to cities across the Maghreb and West Africa. The partnership opens up a number of new destinations previously unavailable through JetBlue or its other partners including the Central African Republic, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone, and Togo.

U.S.-bound travelers will enjoy easy transfers at JFK from Royal Air Maroc to JetBlue destinations including Boston, Massachusetts; Buffalo/Niagara Falls, New York; Los Angeles and San Francisco, California; Austin and Houston, Texas; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and six cities in Florida including Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa.

“We are pleased to expand our partnership portfolio by joining with Royal Air Maroc to offer our fliers a new option to Africa,” said Scott Resnick, JetBlue’s director of airline partnerships. “With Royal Air Maroc, JetBlue customers now have access to even more destinations across North and West Africa from an airline that shares a similar philosophy of putting customers first.”

Known for its award-winning service, JetBlue offers travellers connecting from Royal Air Maroc a premium experience that includes all-leather seating, unlimited free snacks and drinks, plus the most legroom in economy class (based on average fleet-wide seat pitch) as well as the most free live entertainment of any U.S. airline. JetBlue also operates one of America’s youngest and most fuel-efficient airline fleets, with 175 Airbus and EMBRAER aircraft.
