Jumia Travel on Thursday announced Fatema Dharsee as the new Country Manager, to further develop the growing portfolio of the hospitality sector in Tanzania. Fatema comes with a wealth of experience and management skills within the industry, having spent many years with Jumia food, as the Head of Marketing in Communication Department.
Fatema’s maiden entry into the leading online hotel booking platform will strengthen Jumia Travel’s objective of providing the best services to local travelers, inside and outside Tanzania. “Definitely, Jumia Travel’s ambition is to tap into the potential of the growing middle class. I’m planning to debunk the myth that travelling is expensive by showing the diversity of the accommodation options. There is a fit for all budgets in all destinations,” said Fatema Dharsee, New Jumia Travel MD in Tanzania.
The Enthusiastic Managing Director stressed on the importance the tourism sector plays on the country’s economy and Tanzania’s potential in attracting more visitors to its unbeatable destinations. “Jumia Travel’s provision of an online platform for tourists to reach out and get insight into the country prior to their arrival will allow for increased influx of tourism in the country. We will also see greater levels of tourism from local Tanzanians,” added Fatema.
