DSI subsidiary awarded contract valued at AED 250m. in Dubai Marina

Gulf Technical Construction Company (GTCC), the civil contracting subsidiary of Drake & Scull International PJSC (DSI), has been awarded a AED 250 million contract for KPM Tower in Dubai Marina.

Awarded by Marina Exclusive Limited, the contract is for the design and build of the residential tower comprising five basement levels and ground plus 38 floors. The tower will contain studios, one and two bedroom apartments and penthouses as well as pool, fitness centre and parking. The approximate total built area of the project will be 51,113 square metres.

KPM Tower will be designed by its namesake, renowned designer Katherine Price Mondadori, and Marco Casamonti of Studio Archea.

The scope of work includes superstructure and single core, masonry and dry wall partitions, floor wall and ceiling finishes, fittings, services including electrical, mechanical ventilation and plumbing, fire fighting installations, lifts, BMU, cladding and rubbish chutes.

GTCC Executive Director, Saleh Muradweij, said that this project adds to GTCC’s already strong order book and helps to ensure the company’s continued growth.

“The awarding of this project is in line with the company’s ambitious growth programme which is currently on track.” Muradweij said. “GTCC, under DSI, is well capitalised and enjoys a breadth of engineering capabilities to undertake any project in the UAE.”

Katherine Price Mondadori said that this project was awarded to GTCC because of their high engineering capabilities, “GTCC is offering an integrated solution which will ensure we achieve exactly what Marina Exclusive Limited want from this project. We are exploring with GTCC and Marco Casamonti ‘smart green’ solutions which reflect our environment friendly commitment.

“GTCC has grown tremendously in the last few years. Being a fairly new company, we enjoy a unique position that allows us to win and execute large project as per the clients requirements of time, cost and quality” Muradweij added.

In 2007, GTCC was acquired by Drake & Scull International (DSI) to complement its established Infrastructure, Water and Power (IWP) service division.
