Pulkovo Airport increases passenger traffic by 11.5% for the first ten months of 2018

In the first ten months of 2018, Pulkovo Airport handled 140,128 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 7.9% year-on-year.

From January to October 2018, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed 15,562,894 passengers, which is 11.5% more than in the same period of 2017.

Domestic traffic grew by 9.5% to 9,268,228 passengers. International traffic increased by 14.6% and amounted to 6,294,666 passengers.

In the first ten months of 2018, Pulkovo Airport handled 140,128 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 7.9% year-on-year. The maximum take-off weight handled at LED amounted to 5,038,798 tons, 10.3% more than in the same period of 2017.

In the first ten months of 2018, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Pobeda and Ural Airlines were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 9,144,575 passengers at St. Petersburg Airport or 58.8% of the total traffic for that period.

Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Belavia, Uzbekistan Airways, Turkish Airlines, and KLM became the leaders at St. Petersburg Airport for the 10-month period of 2018. In total, they handled 1,086,735 passengers at Pulkovo or 7% of the total airport traffic.

In October 2018, 1,547,328 passengers traveled through Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, a number 15.2% higher than in the same month of 2017.

Domestic traffic increased by 16.4% to 941,196 passengers compared to the same period of 2017. International traffic grew by 13.3% year-on-year and amounted to 606,132 passengers.

In October 2018, Pulkovo Airport handled 14,240 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 6.4% to the level of October 2017. The maximum take-off weight handled amounted to 499,751 tons, a figure 10.5% higher than in the same period of 2017.

In October 2018, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, Pobeda, S7 Airlines, and Ural Airlines were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 924,799 passengers or 59.8% of the total traffic at St.Petersburg Airport for that period. Among foreign airlines, the leaders were Lufthansa, Belavia, Uzbekistan Airways, KLM, and Turkish Airlines. In total, they handled 109,595 passengers at Pulkovo or 7.1% of the total airport traffic for October 2018.

In October 2018, Pulkovo Airport welcomed the first Airbus A380-800 in the history of St. Petersburg. Another novelty at Pulkovo in October was remote check-in at Outlet Village Pulkovo shopping center near the airport. The service is available for passengers of all airlines operating flights from St. Petersburg airport.

St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport is the fourth airport in Russia in terms of passenger numbers. Since 2010, the main operator of Pulkovo is Northern Capital Gateway LLC, an international consortium that manages the airport and implements its reconstruction and development project.
