SINGAPORE – Scoot’s first U.S. flight has departed Singapore for Honolulu and landed in Daniel K. Inouye International (HNL) Airport. The inaugural flight marks the start of Scoot’s four-times-weekly operations between Singapore and Honolulu via Osaka, as well as Scoot’s first non-stop Singapore-Osaka services on top of existing three-times-weekly services via Bangkok and Kaohsiung. The Singapore-Osaka-Honolulu route will be operated on a twin-aisled Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with a total capacity of 329 seats.

“We are excited about entering the U.S. market with a destination as special as Hawai‘i,” said Mr Lee Lik Hsin, Scoot CEO. “We look forward to connecting our two communities which are both known for their rich multi-cultural heritage. We are confident that travellers from Singapore and the region are eager to visit Hawai‘i as a world-famous vacation destination.”

In true Scootitude fashion, passengers onboard the inaugural flight enjoyed inflight activities and games with prizes, and on arrival in Honolulu, they will be greeted with fresh flower lei, Hawaiian music, hula, and refreshments. To commemorate Scoot’s entry to Hawai‘i, it will be making a donation of USD 20,000 to a local non-profit organization, Na Kama Kai. Na Kama Kai educates Hawai‘i’s children about the importance of taking care of Hawai‘i’s fragile natural environment.
