Tandem launches ‘Tandem Travels’ bringing together travelers worldwide

The ‘Tandem Travels’ feature stimulates summer travel-related conversations between language exchange partners. Members can share travel tips, advice, and recommendations within the community, all while refining their language skills.

BERLIN – Community for language exchange Tandem is bringing travel front and center with the launch of the new ‘Tandem Travels’ summer feature.

As travel and languages go hand in hand, Tandem is encouraging its members to take the plunge and get practicing languages before heading off on their travels. The new feature will unite travel-loving members around the world and give them the chance to discuss their upcoming summer travel plans in all different languages.

Members seeking personalized travel recommendations for certain countries can select the destination they’re traveling to next and ask the community for their top tips, from best cities to visit, must-eat local dishes, and hidden tourist traps.

The ‘Tandem Travels’ feature allows members to:

  • Use the topic of summer travels as a conversation starter with a new language exchange partner
  • Chat with other fellow globe-trotting members on the app
  • Give and receive useful travel phrases, recommendations, tips, and advice
  • Share which country they’re traveling to next with the rest of the community
  • Discover the most popular destinations among the community

Arnd Aschentrup, CEO and Co-Founder of Tandem commented: “Speaking the local language is a central part of any travel experience, which is why many of our members choose to brush up on their language skills before vacationing. ‘Tandem Travels’ connects the many passionate travelers on the app and gives them a space to talk about all things travel-related in the languages they’re practicing. Gathering travel tips from fellow travelers on Tandem has never been easier!”
