One of the three main streams of the conference will be the ‘research track’ where academics will discuss a number of cutting-edge topics related to the conference’s main theme ‘Where Social Inspiration meets Dynamic eTourism Innovation’.

ENTER 2014, which is organised by the International Federation for Information Technologies in Travel and Tourism (IFITT), will bring together the research community and the industry by which it follows IFITT’s mission to network eTourism stakeholders and nurture eTourism innovation, exploration and knowledge. The research track will comprise 18 focused research topics that will be discussed in moderated sessions. These sessions will focus on a number of issues such, as ‘User Tracking and Modelling’, ‘Search and Information Use’ and ‘Mobile Tourism’.

IFITT believes that the support for researchers and professionals is essential to progress the eTourism field and that a dynamic dialogue among tourism organisations, technology providers and academia can bring solutions. Therefore, the research track follows IFITT’s objectives to encourage excellence in the research, development and implementation of tourism technologies and to enhance the quality of research publications in relevant journals, books and other outlets.

IFITT President Professor Buhalis says: “Research excellence opens the way for industry innovation and competitiveness. It is through the discussion of the research undertaken that brings to industry innovative solutions and allows them to develop products and services for the future. Bringing technology and tourism research and practice together at ENTER 2014 enables participants to engage in a dialogue that will support the development of eTourism of the future. ENTER has always been an intellectual area for stimulating this fantastic growth.”

ENTER 2014 will take place from January 21-24, 2014 in the Chartered Accountants House in Dublin, Ireland.
