Tourism campaign presenting Germany’s outstanding attractions, at Frankfurt Airport

Launched this week and running for the next six months in the Pier C transit area of Terminal 1, the campaign presents large-sized posters with images from Germany’s 16 federal states.

The DZT Deutsche Zentrale fur Tourismus (German National Tourist Board) and Fraport AG are welcoming international travelers at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) with a special marketing campaign to highlight Germany’s world-class tourist attractions. Launched this week and running for the next six months in the Pier C transit area of Terminal 1, the campaign presents large-sized posters with images from Germany’s 16 federal states. “Our goal is to position the Germany brand and to convince international transit passengers of the country’s rich diversity as a travel destination. Ultimately, we want to whet their appetite to holiday in Germany,” said DZT executive board chairperson Petra Hedorfer.

A highlight of the campaign is that passengers can take their photos in front of the huge billboards and post them – using the hashtag #GERnow – directly on the Instagram and Facebook social media networks. Via the QR-code on each poster, travelers can connect to the DZT landing page, where they can download apps for Germany’s Top 100 tourist attractions and Fraport’s official FRA Airport App.

Fraport AG’s exective board chairman Dr. Stefan Schulte said: “For many passengers from all around the world, Frankfurt Airport is the first point of contact with our country and our culture. We are pleased to present these beautiful and impressive images of Germany’s outstanding attractions. These posters serve as a wonderful invitation for international travelers to discover the many facets of Germany on their next vacation. Additionally, these large-sized photos enhance the attractiveness of our terminal and the airport experience for our passengers.”
