Tripsta introduces Price Radar

Price Radar is a search engine which enables the user to find the lowest available flight price within the next six months.

ATHENS, GREECE – Tripsta, one of the leading Online Travel Agencies in SE Europe, has recently developed an innovative search engine for the lowest available flight prices – Price Radar.

Price Radar is a search engine which enables the user to find the lowest available flight price within the next six months. Covering 2.500 domestic and international routes, Price Radar allows the traveler to search and directly see the best price for a selected roundtrip flight. What makes Price Radar truly innovative is that it doesn’t only solve a big data problem but it also shows the user results in less than one second. The results of Price Radar are based on Amadeus Extreme Search technology.

Price Radar helps the traveler to find the lowest fare for his preferred route according to a number of criteria such as the dates he wants to travel, the maximum price he is willing to pay, the duration of his stay and the number of stops. The results are displayed in an innovative user interface which involves three steps to find the lowest price for the customer. The first step shows a bar chart with the lowest fares per day for the next six months. It allows the user to see all available prices and to scroll/browse through them. This step serves mainly as a filter. Based on the customer’s choice in the first step, the second step shows another bar chart, but this time only for a timeframe of 14 days. In this step, the customer has to choose the exact date he wants to depart. The third step shows the actual results and possible return flights together with the prices for the selected departure date.

“Price Radar is an example of our commitment to develop innovative tools for our customers. Using Price Radar, our customers can base their search around their budget within a timeframe of six months. Because of the huge amount of data, something like this was not possible up until now. We are convinced that Price Radar gives us a competitive advantage to our competitors and that it will boost our conversion rates” said Philipp Brinkmann, CEO of Tripsta.

The current version of Price Radar is a beta version. The goal is to collect data in order to understand how exactly customers are using and interacting with Price Radar. Based on the results of this data other implementations will follow.

So far it is activated for the following markets: Greece, Russia, Poland, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Romania and Ireland. It can be found under the flight navigation menu on each website.
