Estonian Air carried 428,159 passengers in the first nine months of the year

In the first nine months the regularity of Estonian Air flights was 99.6%, an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

From January to September Estonian Air carried altogether 428 159 passengers, out of which 50 119 in September. In the first nine months Estonian Air operated 8 284 flights, out of which 918 in September. Nine month passenger and flight numbers are in the line of the restructuring plan focusing on downsizing of the airline and serving destinations with substantial demand to and from Tallinn.

“Serving a small home market on the outskirts of Europe requires us to be very cost effective and flexible airline. We have built up an optimal network that enables us to stay competitive and ensures sustainable core business,” said Jan Palmer, the CEO of Estonian Air.

Within the first nine months of 2013, Estonian Air has shown an outstanding service regarding regularity and punctuality. “This is considerably higher than we had during the same period last year,” added Palmer. “We are also among the highest performers among our peers, the regional airlines of Europe.”

In the first nine months the regularity of Estonian Air flights was 99.6%, an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year. The company has considerably improved the punctuality – 15-minute punctuality was 90.9 %, an increase of 7 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

In September the regularity and punctuality were 99.9% and 93.2% respectively.

Estonian Air is aiming to provide Estonia with reliable and regular double daily connections to destinations of strategic importance and of substantial demand. Estonian Air, Estonia’s national carrier, is the biggest operator at Tallinn Airport. The airline flies regular routes to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Oslo, Moscow, St Petersburg, Kiev, Vilnius and Trondheim. From December to March, a winter destination to Munich will be added.
