Reed Travel Exhibitions, organiser of the first ILTM Americas, to take place 1–3 October 2012 in the luxury resort of Mayakoba, Riviera Maya, Mexico has revealed an ‘overwhelming interest’ from North, Central and South American agents wishing to be considered for this inaugural event.
Luxury travel suppliers from all four corners of the world have also been swift to register interest with confirmed participants already including Bulgari Hotels, &Beyond, Luxury Lodges of Australia, Wilderness Safaris, Orient-Express and The Ritz-Carlton.
Alison Gilmore, Exhibition Director, ILTM commented: “The increase in demand from high-end agents from across the region has been met by an equal demand from the world’s luxury travel suppliers to be present at the first ILTM Americas. We have been overwhelmed with interest from our target markets and are delighted to be able to meet this demand.”
Following the successful ILTM format, ILTM Americas is a one-to-one summit focussing exclusively on the demand from the world’s largest outbound luxury travel market, North America, and the rapidly emerging Latin American market. Only the very best luxury travel agents from the region will be invited to meet with the accredited global suppliers in 15 minute appointments between buyers and suppliers who have each registered a wish to meet each other.
Launching with the full support of Mexico Tourism Board and Riviera Maya regional tourist board, ILTM Americas will also present a detailed Education Program, where discussion topics will include ‘The three most mis-used word in travel – Ecotourism, Volunteerism and Sustainability’ and ‘Social Media – is it more than participating in Facebook and Twitter?’
Ms Gilmore added: “Luxury and nature are truly connected at Mayakoba. It is the perfect location for those defining the future of luxury travel to meet and discuss these topical issues at ILTM Americas.”
