Leonardo Hotels further expands its presence in Spain: Two hotels in Madrid

Leonardo Hotels are adding two further hotels in Spain’s capital and cultural centre. The new additions to the portfolio: the Leonardo Hotel Madrid City Center with 153 rooms and the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Madrid with 75 rooms.

BERLIN/MADRID – Only last year, Leonardo Hotels announced their market entry in Spain. With the opening of LH Barcelona Las Ramblas and LBH Barcelona Sagrada Familia, this expansion proved to be very successful. Now, Leonardo Hotels are adding two further hotels in Spain’s capital and cultural centre. The new additions to the portfolio: the Leonardo Hotel Madrid City Center with 153 rooms and the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Madrid with 75 rooms. Both hotels were previously operated under the brand “NH” and will be incorporated into the brand identity of Leonardo Hotels as a result of the takeover. Located right at the heart of Madrid’s city centre, the hotels are perfect for business travellers as well as tourists. Short routes to all major attractions, direct transport connections and underground stations within walking distance make the hotel locations particularly attractive. Comprehensive renovations to improve the quality of the hotels and bring them to the high level of all Leonardo Hotels will start in November this year. Leonardo Hotels have engaged the internationally acclaimed interior designer Andreas Neudahm to design both hotels.

The introduction of Spain as a location has confirmed our expansion strategy. It is therefore only logical to continue to drive the expansion of Leonardo Hotels on the spanish market. Madrid is a major economic centre and a very popular holiday destination for tourists. I am very pleased that we will now also be able to offer our guests two Leonardo Hotels here,” says Daniel Roger, Managing Director Europe. Hogan Lovells acted as legal advisor of Leonardo Group in the acquisition process. The Brokers were JLL Madrid.
