ACTE tackles the meeting industry&turns an eye toward procurement

The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) on June 2 will move its Executive Forum series to Amsterdam

The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) on June 2 will move its Executive Forum series to Amsterdam, where procurement strategies and issues facing meetings professionals will take centre stage.

Building on the findings of recent EMEA ACTE Executive Forums, Amsterdam participants will have the opportunity to share with leading associations in the meetings industry and other stakeholders their opinions on compensation to Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs). Through these on-going discussions, ACTE aims at facilitating a discussion on price transparency helping parties understand PCO`s added value in order to continue advancing the industry.

Forum delegates will hear industry experts address the need for more transparency in the meetings industry, and the inevitable merger of travel management with the organisation of Meetings, Incentives, Congresses and Exhibitions (MICE) market. The meetings industry session also will help attendees better understand why the transition to transparency, under the influence of standard procurement practices, remains a challenge, and what agencies can do to change their business model and demonstrate their Return On Investment (ROI) more clearly.

EC regulations are key to the future of our industry. Mr. Trevor Soames, Solicitor-Advocate & Barrister at Howrey Simon Arnold & White, LLP in Brussels, an expert EU and Member State transportation antitrust, competition and regulatory law will share his insights with Forum`s attendees during his key note address.

The ROI of Purchasing Strategy session will help delegates calculate returns for purchasing in general. In addition, professionals will learn how to maximize and measure performance of the travel procurement program.

Recognizing that travel and procurement managers need data to make informed decisions, Amsterdam participants will learn where to get access to critical data and how to analyze and efficiently exploit that information in their travel management strategies. Most importantly delegates will get professional advice on using data to strengthen their negotiation power with suppliers.

The Amsterdam Forum agenda highlights ACTE`s commitment to serve the business travel industry`s need for thought-provoking events that parlay expert information into actionable results.

ITM members are also welcome to participate in the Amsterdam Forum. ITM members now get the same benefits as ACTE members.
