HFTP members from around the globe participated in a one-hour ProLinks Online Educational Session. ProLinks, an online community, is a new member benefit for HFTP members, and this event was only open to HFTP members. The limited seats for the Oct. 7 session were filled very quickly. Stephen M. Doherty, CHAE, CHTP of Post Integrations, Inc. presented the session from his office in Weston, Fla., titled, “Demystifying CISP: The Cardholder Information Security Program.” Doherty discussed information about CISP, the Cardholder Information Security Program and other cardholder data protection initiatives, their objectives and goals. Attendees learned about their obligations for protecting sensitive credit card data, as well as compliance requirements and timelines for CISP.
The online session was the second to be hosted by HFTP. The ProLinks Online Educational sessions use web conferencing technology that includes live audio broadcast, slide presentation, file download and polling. The technology allows participants to interact with the presenter in real-time during the presentation. Evelyn Adams, Controller at Hamlet Country Club in Delray Beach, Fla. was in attendance at the session.

HFTP members were able to attend the session regardless of their geographic location. Members from across the continental US, Hawaii, Canada and Europe were in attendance. Because of geographic limitations attending educational seminars has not always been feasible for HFTP’s overseas members. With the convenience of connecting via the Web, Moustapha Guimei, director of finance at Four Seasons Provence, was able to attend the session from his office in France. “I found ProLinks to be a excellent tool for continuing education,” he said.
HFTP members in attendance were also able to earn continuing education credit towards maintenance of their Certified Hospitality Accounting Executive (CHAE) and Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP) designations. Leonard Bartello has earned credit toward his CHAE and CHTP designations by attending the session.
I enjoyed participating in the event. The ProLinks sessions are a very convenient way of earning educational credit,” said Bartello.
The session was recorded and is now available for viewing on demand by HFTP members.
