ARINC Managed Services (AMS), LLC, has been awarded a two year contract by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority (MWAA) to provide maintenance and repairs for the Parking Revenue Control (PRCS) System at Dulles International Airport based upon a competitive solicitation.



The PRCS automates operations and management of multiple parking facilities at Washington Dulles International Airport, conducting approximately 9.3 million transactions annually. The PRCS system includes the hardware used for public parking operations, comprising the employee proximity Access Card System, Automated Vehicle Identification System, Mobile License Plate Inventory System, Intercom system, and Public Parking Space Count System.



The contract represents a strategic extension of existing business for AMS. The company provides maintenance and support for a wide variety of IT systems at airports, ranging from passenger processing systems and self-service kiosks to baggage handling, flight information displays, and now, parking systems.



“AMS is expanding the maintenance and support services we typically provide within the airport terminal environment to include other solutions in addition those provided by our parent company, ARINC Incorporated,” stated Jim Martin, AMS Senior Director. “These systems also require “aviation quality” levels of support, which AMS is uniquely able to provide, this is at the center of our capabilities, and is aligned with our focus on the airports industry.”



The two year base contract includes three one year renewal options. AMS will provide 24×7 support on-site, with stringent preventive maintenance intervals and service-level guarantees to ensure any equipment failures will be detected and corrected immediately.



MWAA also set a high standard for local disadvantaged business enterprise participation in the service contract. After extensive local interviews, AMS engaged Washington, DC-based Business Promotion Consultants, Inc., a well-qualified technology services company, to perform 25% of the on-site support required by the contract.
