Groople, the online group of travel planning, named Jeff Potter, CEO of Frontier Airlines to their Board of Directors.
As President and chief executive officer at Frontier Airlines Inc., the Denver-based carrier, Potter brings 24 years of aviation industry experience and expertise to Groople’s fast-paced expansion. Potter joined Frontier Airlines in 1995 as vice president of marketing after stints at Continental and Northwest. He left Frontier in 2000 to become president and CEO of Vanguard Airlines and then returned in May 2001 as chief operating officer, taking the president’s reins in August 2001 and adding the chief executive title less than a year later.
“Jeff Potter and his in-depth airline and distribution experience adds tremendous value to Groople as we enter this next stage of growth,” said Groople Chief Executive Officer David Loy. “With more than 20 years of experience in the airline industry, Jeff has strong, valuable leadership skills and we look forward to his contributions as we execute on our strategic plan,” Loy continued.
The news of Potter joining Groople’s board follows the recent announcement of the company’s partnership with Travelocity, a partnership that brings group travel efficiencies to the masses through Travelocity’s extensive reach and Groople’s technology and unrivaled functionality for booking groups online. In addition, Groople recently released its version 3.1 product, providing greater functionality to its customers and the company’s supplier partners.
Groople utilizes the most effective channels to target the leisure group market by automating the group booking process while matching the needs of specific groups with appropriate products, prices and support. While facilitating bookings and generating new revenue, Groople allows travel suppliers to retain control of their inventory and rates.
