Solombrino Named to NBTA Board; DePasquale Appointed to ALC

The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) announced the appointment of Scott A. Solombrino, president and CEO of Dav El Chauffeured Transportation Network

The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) announced the appointment of Scott A. Solombrino, president and CEO of Dav El Chauffeured Transportation Network, as Vice President of the Association’s Allied Leadership Council (ALC). In that capacity, Solombrino will serve on the NBTA Board of Directors.

“We are pleased to welcome Scott to this important leadership position on the NBTA Allied Leadership Council and to the NBTA Board of Directors,” said Carol A. Devine, CCTE, NBTA president and CEO. “Scott brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as a proven track record of support for NBTA and the corporate travel industry generally.”

Solombrino’s career in the chauffeured ground transportation industry spans 26 years. He founded and served as president of both the Massachusetts Limousine Association and the National Limousine Association. He serves on the Industry Advisory Council of the Institute of Business Travel Management, NBTA’s education and research foundation. In 2002, NBTA awarded him the Allied Member of the Year Award, and in 2004 the New England Business Travel Association presented him the Award for Leadership and Professional Excellence.

“I am honored to have this opportunity to work for the corporate travel community by serving on the Board of the industry’s premier national organization,” said Solombrino.

NBTA also appointed as a new member of the ALC Tom DePasquale, president and CEO of Outtask, Inc., a leading provider of corporate travel and expense automation solutions. DePasquale has more than 20 years of experience applying technology solutions to business challenges. He was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002 and one of Business Travel News’ Top 25 Most Influential Executives of 2002.

“As a provider of technology solutions and a successful businessman, Tom will bring an important perspective to the NBTA Allied Leadership Council,” said Devine. “I look forward to working with him as NBTA continues to serve the managed travel industry.”

The mission of the ALC is to represent NBTA’s Allied Members by acting as a sounding voice for the Allied community within NBTA, and to assure a strong Allied/NBTA relationship addressing common interests facing the travel industry. To strengthen the role of the ALC, NBTA will expand the body from six members to seven. The appointments to an open sixth and the new seventh positions will be named soon.

Members of the Allied Leadership Council are appointed by the NBTA President and CEO for two-year terms. The ALC President and Vice President are members of the NBTA Board of Directors. Solombrino replaces Michael C. Mulvagh, who recently stepped down as ALC Vice President.
