Cabo Villas Beach Resort sees substantial online revenue growth

Cabo San Lucas full service hotel finds the secret to successful marketing; Wins award and new online customers.

JASKSONVILLE, FL – Cabo Villas Beach Resort & Spa selected Vizergy – Digital Travel Marketing in 2012 to boost their hotel Internet marketing efforts. This full service, 142-room independent property located in Cabo San Lucas felt the need to enhance their online presence to maintain their edge over the competition. Vizergy recommended that the property invest in a new custom website design to achieve higher rankings on major search engines, increase website traffic and deliver a higher percentage of relevant and ready-to-book guests. Vizergy received a Silver Adrian Award for digital marketing excellence for its work with Cabo Villas at the recent HSMAI awards gala.

“Since re-launching our website with Vizergy in late 2012, we have seen consistent growth in our online revenue,” said Sergio Banos, General Manager of Cabo Villas. “Our collaboration with Vizergy’s team and their online strategies has been a productive combination. Cabo Villas is seeing first-time visitors to our ‘Heart of Cabo’ location on Medano Beach, and they are fully enjoying and relaxing at our four restaurants, world class spa and three swimming pools.”

Cabo Villas sought to increase website traffic and direct hotel bookings, increase requests for information (RFP’s) for destination weddings, and sell special fishing travel packages. They specifically wanted to gain more exposure for the hotel side of this luxury resort, separately from the vacation rentals and timeshare side. Their old site did not make it clear that there was an independent property on-site. Vizergy created a hotel website design that showcases the beauty of the property and surrounding area through large background photos, easy-to-navigate and informative pages, media gallery, hotel video and virtual tour to engage visitors. Much of Cabo Villas’ continued success is due to the aesthetically pleasing design that sells the property, and Vizergy’s dedicated team of account managers that conducts strategic reviews and consultation on a regular basis.

Cabo Villas has experienced continued success since going live with their new website and mobile site in late 2012, and saw the following key metrics in 2013:

  • Over 10:1 ROI in 2013; online booking only, does not include voice agent & group sales
  • Over 43% rise in direct visits in Q4 2013 compared to Q4 2012
  • Almost 50% of website visits attributed to natural and paid search advertising
  • 12% of total traffic is on mobile devices, visiting the mobile friendly version of the site
  • 457% increase in RFPs submitted YOY.
