BARCELONA – Hotusa Hotels, the Grupo Hotusa hotel consortium, once again this year leads the ranking of the top 25 consortia, which is published each year by the prestigious US magazine HOTELS. As of the end of 2015, Hotusa Hotels had 2,592 member hotels and represented a total of 233,279 rooms. This is the fourth year in a row that Hotusa Hotels has led this list of the top independent hotel groups, followed by Moscow-based Best Eurasian Hotels and American Preferred Hotel Group.

Keytel, the group's other hotel representative, is ranked fourth with 149,111 rooms at 1,415 hotels. President of Grupo Hotusa Amancio López Seijas says, "The consolidation of the privileged position of Hotusa Hotels and Keytel at the top of this ranking is a sign of the good health of our tourism division, as a result of the interest our services arouse among independent hotels."

The figures from the first six months of 2016 point to even better results for this year. So far this year, Hotusa Hotels has grown its portfolio with 235 new member establishments, 44 in Spain and 191 in a total of 31 countries in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. Noteworthy among the new incorporations are the 62 new member hotels in France, a destination where Hotusa Hotels now has more than 300 member hotels; plus the 17 in Italy, 12 in Portugal and 9 in the United Arab Emirates. Growth has also been noteworthy in Latin America, with 40 new establishments in Argentina, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay.

On the magazine's ranking of chains, Eurostars Hotel Company, the hotel division of Grupo Hotusa, has held steady at 90th in number of rooms, despite incorporating 8 new establishments. This hotel management area, which includes the Eurostars Hotels and Exe Hotels chains, would be ranked 42nd in the world and third in Spain in number of establishments.
