IAVRA looks to attract MENA-based travel agents

The acquisition strategy of IAVRA is now shifting to focus more directly on attracting travel professionals across the MENA region.

IAVRA, the villa, chalet and apartment rental platform for the travel trade, has spent the last several months marketing to North American travel professionals. The acquisition strategy is now shifting to focus more directly on attracting travel professionals across the MENA region. The IAVRA portfolio offers international travel agents a way to access close to 6000, 3*-5* holiday rentals represented and managed by property agents across 50 countries.

As Business Development Manager, Yianni Dimitriadis explains: “According to PhoCusWright travel research, over 200 billion euros in travel sales are made each year by close to 100,000 Travel Agents in Europe alone. Vacation rentals have been predominately a consumer-facing market with 100s of cookie-cutter B2C and C2C listing sites that do not reliably cater to the needs of travel agents. And this in spite of there being an increasing demand for Travel Professionals to offer vacation rentals, villas, chalets and apartment rentals to their clients. IAVRA offers a tailored, trade-focused, professional solution.”

City apartments in Paris, London and New York have proved a popular product for IAVRA’s current MENA-based travel agent subscribers. And as always, IAVRA’s property acquisition strategy is tied closely to its travel agent acquisition strategy and therefore IAVRA will be focusing on bringing on new property agents in regions requested by its MENA agents. IAVRA is also planning on offering Arabic versions of their branded property brochures (alongside their English, Russian, Chinese and Portuguese versions) so that new MENA-based agents can service their clients more effectively.

And with the announcement from His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai that Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) will have the authority to grant licenses to those wishing to rent out furnished residential properties on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, IAVRA will be looking to engage local property managers licensed to rent villas and city apartments in Dubai. According to Partner JC Moquette, “The global vacation and holiday rental market is fragmented and continues to lack standardisation and regulation in many regions. While cities like Paris, Berlin and New York look to outright ban holiday and apartment rentals, Dubai recognizes the value of this booming market to strengthen their tourism and so chooses to take control through regulation and standardization. We applaud their decision and look forward to being able to offer and promote licensed Dubai villas, holiday homes and apartment rentals to our international travel agents.”

IAVRA is a b2b vacation rental platform for the travel trade, connecting the top international travel agents with the best property management companies worldwide. The unique, closed platform gives users access to 5,900+ rental properties in 50 countries. Site features and tools help to differentiate it from your typical listing site: agent branded e-brochures and property selection charts, guaranteed minimum 10% commission on every property, and marketing tools to help agents promote vacation rentals to their clients. IAVRA makes the process easy for travel professionals and property managers, allowing them to network internationally and directly on a trusted platform. IAVRA does not take a commission on bookings made through the site.
