Sarasota has been voted one of the top well-being cities in the country and The Westin Sarasota will help keep it there.

SARASOTA, Fla. – Kolter Hospitality, a division of The Kolter Group, proudly announced that it has opened the doors of The Westin Sarasota Hotel in downtown Sarasota to guests.  The highly anticipated hotel is located at 1175 N. Gulfstream Avenue in the heart of Sarasota’s lively Arts District.

The Westin Sarasota Hotel features include:

  • 255 Guestrooms and Suites
  • 26,000 square feet of stunning event and meeting space
  • The Signature EVOQ restaurant
  • A World-Class Spa & Salon
  • Rooftop pool and bar overlooking Sarasota Bay
  • Wellness Concierge Program

“It’s an ideal spot for both leisure visitors to Sarasota and the business community as we are centrally located in the hub of the increasingly active arts district, only minutes from St. Armand’s Circle and the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center as well as within walking distance to all local downtown businesses,” said Jim Donovan, Director of Sales and Marketing for The Westin Sarasota Hotel.  “The focus of the hotel is to provide the type of facilities, service and hospitality that ensures guests leave feeling better mentally, physically and wellbeing-wise than when they arrived.”

The signature hotel restaurant, EVOQ, was designed to evoke a sense of casual elegance.  At EVOQ, Executive Chef Craig MacAvoy, creates classic comfort food re-imagined in healthy, craveable ways for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  MacAvoy has a wealth of experience working in distinguished hotel kitchens across the country. Most recently, he served as the Executive Chef for the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove.  He has also opened hotels in China and throughout the Caribbean.

“Besides the incredible EVOQ, Chef MacAvoy will also oversee The Roof Bar & Eats, which is a breathtaking, 19th floor rooftop gathering place for hotel guests and Sarasota locals to connect, relax and socialize,” added Donovan.  “There is no venue like it in Sarasota; the Roof Bar & Eats features a craft cocktail menu, small plates fare and an ambience of upscale energy with live music, chic seating options and numerous fire features.  Additionally, the Sarasota Bay, marina and city views from the 19th floor rooftop are the most impressive views you can get in Sarasota.”

With 26,000 square feet of banquet and conference space, the hotel can serve functions of all sizes.  It’s largest room, the 5,515 square-foot Triton Ballroom, has 22-foot vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Sarasota Bay.

Doug Hope, General Manager at The Westin Sarasota Hotel proudly stated, “We are so pleased to be part of the Sarasota community and I’m sincerely looking forward to welcoming everyone to The Westin Sarasota Hotel.”

Sarasota has been voted one of the top well-being cities in the country and The Westin Sarasota will help keep it there. The hotel will offer a wellness concierge who can assist with yoga, Pilates, RunWestin and nutrition classes.  Of course, guests can also rejuvenate themselves with soothing spa treatments at our stunning Westin Spa & Salon.

“From the moment you step into the lobby of The Westin Sarasota, with its tranquil atmosphere and Living Wall, you’ll know you’ve arrived somewhere special,” concluded Donovan.
