Edinburgh’s landmark Balmoral enters 2005 on a high, after scooping the prestigious “Best UK Urban Day Spa” accolade in Conde Nast Traveller’s 2005 Readers’ Spa Awards.
The Balmoral Spa beat off stiff competition from leading spas around the country, as voted by readers of the renowned UK bible of travel. With a highly-impressive overall score of 95 per cent, The Balmoral Spa performed well in all criteria, particularly body treatments; the score of 95.56 was the highest within the UK Urban Day Spa category.
The Balmoral Spa, which positions itself as an exclusive retreat in the heart of the city, places great emphasis on the customer journey. The Spa is popular with residents at The Balmoral, as well as day visitors, which is a key growth area for the business.
This accolade is a testament to The Balmoral’s key business objective: outstanding customer care in order to exceed guest expectations. Within The Spa, this success has been strengthened by the appointment of Katrina Lynam as Head Therapist, whose vision is to ensure The Balmoral Spa combines world-class treatments with the highest levels of personalised service within the UK spa sector.
Exemplary customer care is something of a mantra at Rocco Forte Hotels; The Balmoral’s sister properties – The St David’s Hotel & Spa in Cardiff and The Lowry Hotel in Manchester – also feature in the top ten, with their spas ranked fifth and tenth respectively.
