Wellspring Investment, LLC, Dellisart, LLC, with IHG expand extended -stay portfolio

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) with Wellspring Investment, LLC and Dellisart, LLC, announce ground breaking of the Staybridge Suites Bowling Green. Scheduled to open in the fall of 2012, the $14 million new-build hotel will include 124 suites and will contribute approximately 21 positions to the local job market. It will be the second Staybridge Suites to open in Kentucky.

“We are very pleased to be working Ray Chen with Wellspring Investment, and the hotel’s developer and manager Dellisart to bring Staybridge Suites to Bowling Green,” said Gina LaBarre, vice president, Americas Brand Management, IHG. “Whether traveling on business, relocating or planning a vacation with family, our guests will find that the Staybridge Suites Bowling Green will offer the best of home and hotel.”

Ray Chen with Wellspring Investment, LLC owns a Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Hermosa Beach, Calif. and is the managing director of Fukuda USA, Inc. in Bowling Green. Dellisart, LLC, an owner, acquirer, manager and developer of nationally branded, quality hotels in the U.S., currently manages four Staybridge Suites hotels in Davenport, Iowa; San Antonio, Texas; Glenview, Ill.; and Lincolnshire, Ill. The company also manages a Candlewood Suites, IHG’s midscale extended-stay hotel brand, in Harrisburg, Pa.

“We are looking forward to bringing the Staybridge Suites brand to western Kentucky and to Bowling Green,” said Douglas Artusio, Chairman and CEO, Dellisart, LLC, which will manage the property under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group. “Bowling Green and the surrounding areas are growing destinations for both business and leisure travelers.”

When it opens at 680 Campbell Lane, just four miles from Interstate 65, the Staybridge Suites Bowling Green will be close to the Western Kentucky University (WKU) main campus, across Campbell Lane from the WKU Research and Development Center and adjacent to the Carroll Knicely Conference Center.

Home to a General Motors assembly plant where the Chevrolet Corvette has been built since 1981, the area is also the location of the Corvette Museum, Lost River Cave and the Rail Park Train Museum.

The three-story, 84,300-square-foot Staybridge Suites Bowling Green will feature the new Vista design scheme, created in conjunction with Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), which focuses on fresh color, organic patterns and subtle textures.

With the new Vista design, each room includes several features intended to reduce environmental impact:
– Kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities are made of quartz, an abundant natural mineral that is virtually maintenance free and requires no chemical sealing.
– Modular carpet tiles are 100 percent recyclable and produce less waste upon installation and replacement.
– Low-VOC paint throughout the suites helps eliminate toxic airborne chemicals.
– Tile selections incorporate pre- and/or post-consumer recycled material.
– Many fabrics will be dyed and printed in a revolutionary process that does not require water, meaning leftover chemicals won’t be flushed out into the environment.

The designs also take into account the unique needs of the extended-stay traveler, including flexibility and storage. Ottoman cubes provide extra seating and storage space, with upholstered tops that can be flipped over to support a laptop or food and drinks. A desk hutch has been added to the existing work surface, providing guests with the ability to store items and customize their workspace, and a built-in closet unit provides customizable shelving for clothing and luggage. Additional flexibility has been incorporated into the studio suites, where the extended nightstand functions as an added work surface and vanity area, and a bench stored underneath can serve as seating or double as a dressing bench.

The new, all-suite hotel will feature three well-designed spacious suite options (deluxe studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom/two-bath). All suites will include in-room DVD players; functional, well-lit work stations with ergonomic seating, speaker phones with direct-dial number, personal voice mail and complimentary local phone calls, and fully equipped kitchens.

Consistent with the Staybridge Suites brand, the property will offer exceptional guest amenities, including a deluxe complimentary daily breakfast buffet featuring Wolfgang Puck coffee, complimentary guest laundry and workout facilities, a complimentary 24-hour business services center, a guest library with books and games for guest use free of charge, and The Pantry, the hotel’s 24-hour convenience store stocked with snacks, sundries, beverages and easy-to-prepare meals.  Guests can get comfortable in the hotel’s Great Room during evening "Social” receptions three days a week for complimentary refreshments, light appetizers and conversation.

The Staybridge Suites Bowling Green will also include an outdoor pool and an outdoor pavilion with two barbecue grills.

Staybridge Suites participates in IHG’s guest loyalty program, Priority Club® Rewards.  The industry’s first and largest guest loyalty program has 61 million members.  Priority Club Rewards membership is free and guests can enroll by logging on at priorityclub.com, by calling 1-888-211-9874 or by inquiring at the front desk of this hotel or any of IHG’s more than 4,500 hotels worldwide.

The Staybridge Suites Bowling Green is owned by Wellspring Investment LLC and managed by Dellisart LLC, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.
