Governor of the New Valley Medhat Abdel Rahman inaugurated yesterday the new Luxor-Kharga highway at a length of 315 km.
The new highway is considered an important economic artery to link Upper Egypt with the Western Desert.
The Governor said that it will help flourishing the tourist movement as it transforms tourists visiting Luxor to travel to the New Valley to tour its antiquities that date back to different ages, besides encouraging the therapeutic tourism.
The highway is provided with basic service to make travel safe, where two first-aid points and police station were set up, he said.
