airBaltic celebrates five years with Euro

airBaltic currently sells 40% of its tickets in countries of the Eurozone, and it will grow to 57% as of January. airBaltic serves over 30 countries with the largest individual markets being Latvia, Finland, Germany, Estonia, Russia, Italy, Sweden, Norway.

RIGA – Latvia adopts the euro as of 1 January 2014. airBaltic introduced the euro five years ago to sell affordable tickets on its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, the CIS and the Middle East.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “airBaltic was the first company in the Baltic region to switch to the euro, as a large part of our tickets and additional services are sold outside Latvia.”

airBaltic currently sells 40% of its tickets in countries of the Eurozone, and it will grow to 57% as of January. airBaltic serves over 30 countries with the largest individual markets being Latvia, Finland, Germany, Estonia, Russia, Italy, Sweden, Norway.
 
As announced recently, airBaltic has achieved a net profit of +13.2 million euros in the third quarter of 2013. airBaltic has by far surpassed its original plans and turned around last year’s loss of -26.72 million euros into a net profit of +0.72 million euros in the nine months Jan-Sept 2013.

airBaltic serves 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.
