The central highlands province of Dac Lac will give preferences to attract investment for tourism, said a provincial official.

The province will exempt land rent for the first four years and continue to halve the rent for tourism project, said Ho Vinh Chu, vice director of the provincial planning and investment service. Afforestation projects in tourist areas will also be exempted land rent during their operational period, he added.

The province will refund all corporate income tax that businesses pay in three years beginning from the time when they earn taxable income. Investors, who use profits for further investment, will be exempted from corporate income tax on the profits gained from their re-investment.

Dac Lac will also pay attention to the production of handicrafts for export. Accordingly, businesses which earn turnover from the export of these products worth 50 percent upward of their total turnover will be refunded half of their corporate income tax.

This year, Dac Lac plans to invest more in upgrading Lac Lake and Buon Don tourism spots and put into operation eco-tours in Chu Yang Sin mountain and through the Yok Don National Park.

Dac Lac is home to primeval forest and abundant plants and animals. Visitors to Dac Lac will be charmed not only with the cultures of ethnic minority groups such as E De, M` Nong and Gia Lai but also with the landscape.

The Chu Yang Sin Nature Reserve, Lac Lake and the Yok Don National Park are the most attractive destinations for tourists. Those sites are the sanctuaries of 20 kinds of trees belonging to Viet Nam`s Red Book and many endangered species of wolf, loris and monkey.
