CWT Solutions Group expands in Latin America

Carolina Passarelli joins the team as local consultant.

MINNEAPOLIS – CWT Solutions Group, the global consulting arm of Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), continues to expand its global footprint, establishing a presence in Latin America to support clients with evolving travel management needs in the region.

Carolina Passarelli joins the team as a senior consultant, where she will provide CWT Solutions Group clients with regional expertise and insights. She will support global clients looking to expand in Latin America and will provide Latin America-based clients with travel management consulting services to deliver additional value to their programs.

“Carolina has successfully administered travel programs for large multinational organizations and assisted local, Latin America-based companies in establishing their travel programs,” said Joel Wartgow, senior director, CWT Solutions Group, Americas. “She will utilize her experience in contract negotiation, supplier relations and travel policy to identify opportunities for CWT clients.”

Business travel in Latin America is growing rapidly. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported year-over-year growth of 8.3 percent among Latin America-based air carriers in their September Air Passenger Analysis, which they believe is due to increased trade and business-related travel.

Further, as consumer demand changes, pricing often adjusts accordingly. CWT Solutions Group forecasts a rise of up to four percent in air prices across Latin America in 2014, with Venezuela and Argentina expected to see the largest increases in the world, at eight and 13 percent respectively. Hotel prices in the region are also expected to increase by up to six percent next year.

Hotel availability in Brazil will be extremely limited during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, running from June 12 – July 13, as more than 600,000 travelers visit the country. Business travelers visiting Brazil during this time should check the calendar for game locations and book travel well in advance to secure reservations. Additional travel tips can be found in CWT’s Business Travel Survival Guide for the 2014 World Cup.

CWT Solutions Group now employs locally based consultants in every region where our clients do business. Combining local expertise with proven global processes and methodologies provides a comprehensive travel strategy that delivers significant incremental savings and appeals to companies across the globe.
