airberlin and Etihad Airways launch joint campaign

A start of the first large-scale partnership campaign launched by airberlin and Etihad Airways under the slogan "Hello Abu Dhabi. Hello World." The campaign focuses on the new Abu Dhabi hub, which offers passengers fast and convenient connections to global destinations, and also on the fact that this hub is within easy reach of many German airports. From Berlin and Dusseldorf, for instance, there are daily direct flights to Abu Dhabi, and from there to the whole of the Gulf States, Asia, Africa and Australia. Etihad Airways also operates one direct flight a day from Munich to the Emirate – and from Frankfurt even two.

Whatever the destination – Johannesburg or the Seychelles, Muscat, Bahrain or Kuwait, or major cities in Australia and Asia, such as Sydney and Bangkok – the campaign shows just how many travel options the Abu Dhabi hub has opened up thanks to airberlin’s strategic partnership with Etihad Airways. Abu Dhabi’s airport with its modern infrastructure is also perfectly designed to cater for transit passengers. This means, for example, that passengers catching a connecting flight at Abu Dhabi’s international airport can use all the facilities available in Terminal 1 and Etihad Airways Terminal 3, which was specially built for the partner airline and opened in spring 2009.

Another component of the joint campaign being run by airberlin and Etihad Airways is the neighbouring Emirate of Dubai, which is just an hour’s drive from Abu Dhabi airport. A free and direct shuttle bus, dovetailed with arrival and departure times, is available to passengers and operates between the airport and Dubai City Centre or Dubai Marina Mall.

As part of the campaign airberlin and Etihad Airways are offering special fares from 4th to 18th June 2012 for flights to many destinations that can be reached via Abu Dhabi.

Until 24th June 2012 the campaign will have a high profile in the press and online media as well as on radio and television. Furthermore the campaign will include outdoor elements, such as transport advertising intended to carry the airlines’ message to target groups throughout the summer months. airberlin’s two German hubs, Berlin and Dusseldorf, will be at the heart of the campaign. Throughout the campaign period, passengers will be able to access a specially designed landing page, airberlin.com/welt, which will provide information about the joint world of travel offered by airberlin and Etihad Airways.
