The meetings industry continues to move ahead strongly. A clear indication of this is that SHIE, the Nordic Region`s events fair, has broken its own record in number of reservations.
The SHIE Fair draws together participants from the whole meetings industry, with the latest knowledge and the newest trends. Success factors from previous fairs are brought back and now reinforced with some new exciting concepts.
SHIE 2006 breaks the record. Never before have we had so many bookings. 70 percent of the fair was already booked five months in advance. – This confirms that SHIE is the obvious meeting place for professional meetings, says Tina Fridh, Event Manager for SHIE.
We are happy for the positive response to SHIE and we are working actively in order to further develop the fair. One example of this is that we have open in the evening on the first day of the fair, which means that even those who do not have the possibility to come during the day can still visit the fair. It is also great to be able to inspire our exhibitors and to help them to become even more professional. We are doing that now by means of, among other things, offering new invitation opportunities and 24 very high class seminars, says Tina Fridh.
Among SHIE Fair`s meetings and events are several noticeable activities
- Expanded opening hours and open in the evening until 8:00 pm on the first day of the fair
- Grand opening with world famous performer. The soul queen, Lutricia McNeal opens the fair together with a secret guest on January 16, 2006
- The SHIE Scholarship. The meetings industry`s most prestigious prize, awarded to the one or to those who during the past year have made a recommendable effort for the Swedish meetings industry. To be awarded at the SHIE party on January 17, 2006
- Visit SHIE – Hosted Buyer Programme. This appreciated study trip programme, where exhibitors can invite their customers to a meaningful programme for inspiration and in-depth knowledge about the meetings industry, will be carried out for the third consecutive year
- The Meeting Meal of the Year. This successful contest from Svenska Moten is back again this year. In this unique contest, where the total experience of a meal is judged, Sweden`s leading conference facilities and hotels compete for the title The Meeting Meal of the Year 2006
- Inspirational Exhibition Stands. Architect Claes Philipson and Jan Bjorklund invite you to exhibition stands which inspire the personal meeting
