Countdown has started for the 24th year of BIT. BIT 2004, the International Tourism Exchange will be organized by EXPOcts in Milan from 14 to 17 February next year.

BIT has proved to be the only exhibition for the whole tourist system, from buyers to travel agents, from tour operators to travellers. This multitarget format confirms BIT`s vocation as a business engine: in fact the 2003 edition had allowed the event to achieve new records with a total attendance of 129,092 people, of which 87,292 are professional operators (+ 5.3% compared to 2002), with an increase of 15,8% attendance by tour operators and travel agents. BIT, the world`s largest showcase for Italian tourism, is the key to this great business.

The great result of BIT 2003 confirms the BIT`s multi-target format of 4 days. BIT 2004 will be re-proposed with a different attention, according to the different targets which compose the heart of the exhibition. At BIT 2004 all the tourism representatives will be present: from the travel producer to the traveller– says Adalberto Corsi, President of EXPOcts

Saturday, February 14 – BIT will open its doors to the Trade and Tourists: the morning sessions will be devoted to business, with entrance allowed only to sector-specific operators, while in the afternoon tourism will be transformed into a great show, with performances and entertainment for the general public, who will be admitted to the exhibition starting from 2,30 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Sunday, February 15 – all the protagonists of the tourism system – the trade, travel agents and travellers – will be attending BIT to do business, learn about new products and be informed on destinations and itineraries. Travellers will also be free to ask for travel agents` advice through guided visits to their stands.

Monday February 16 – BIT will specifically focus on business with operators, national and international buyers, as well as professional training and insight work, with a long list of events organised within the framework of BIT Visions and BIT Virtual On Stage.

Tuesday, February 17 – More appointments with the trade, with a particular focus on business travels. The protagonist of the day will be the 3rd International Forum on the Tourism System, where the new world-wide scenarios will be outlined.

BIT 2004 will also pay a special attention to the world of innovation and new trends, by proposing again the following focus exhibitions on Technologies that support Tourism, Wine & Food, Spa & Fitness and Open Air.
