Tourism & Leisure Advisors – EuroPraxis and MHI Turismo have reached an agreement to merge their professional practices, giving rise to Spain’s largest firm in tourism and leisure consultancy services.

From this new platform, the two companies will continue serving private firms and public institutions in Spain and at international level, combining their respective areas of specialisation and thus strengthening them.

MHI is a consultancy specialising in the tourism sector and until August 2005 operating under the name of Mazars Turismo. Its clients include such outstanding companies and institutions as Grupo GEDEO, Fadesa, Barcelo, the Ministries of Tourism of Spain, Saudi Arabia and Morocco, the Inter-American Development Bank, the European Union, Fira de Barcelona, RACC, Fundacio la Caixa, Intercontinental Hotels and Grup XXI, among others.

In addition to its consultancy practice, for over 10 years MHI has been responsible for preparing an annual study on the Spanish hotel industry, and since 1998, in the MHI Hotel Index report, it has regularly analysed the main operational variables of a sample of more than 150 hotels in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Seville. Both of these reports are well recognised within the Spanish hotel sector, as well as among investors interested in this industry.

This is one further step in the strategy of Tourism & Leisure Advisors-Europraxis (Grupo Indra) of strengthening its position as the leading Spanish consultancy in the tourism and leisure sector. The company will continue offering its services to hotel chains, developers, investors and public and institutional entities, in the areas of business strategy, asset management, resort development, destination planning, marketing and accessibility.

The next challenge for the company will be to extend and reinforce its know-how and its brand in the international market, already the location of more than 60% of its projects, specifically in North Africa (Morocco and Tunisia), the Caribbean, Brazil, the Mediterranean Basin and the Middle East.
