GCB German Convention Bureau with the support of the German Society for Association Management (DGVM) and the Association of Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF), are expanding the German-speaking programme, for which MCI Germany is responsible, to accompany the international IMEX Association Day in Frankfurt Fair`s Congress Centre on 16 April 2007 for the second time running.
It is intended for staff members of various associations who organise all kinds of events, from committee meetings through general conventions to major annual assemblies. The Association Day will be the kick-off event for IMEX.
With high-calibre lecturers, a programme that focuses on the specific needs of associations, and its proximity to the start of IMEX, the Association Day has established itself as a top educational event, says GCB director Lutz P. Vogt.
And AWMF director Wolfgang Muller confirms the success, above all, of the German-speaking programme, which was launched in 2006. The AWMF, whose members stage at least one major congress a year, will also be supporting this year`s German-speaking programme: The German Association Day is extremely helpful, because you can obtain tips and advice in a very hands-on manner and discuss things intensively there.
As further advantages Muller singles out the unique opportunity to share ideas and experiences with so many partners from the event industry and the connection with IMEX trade fair.
The German-speaking programme of Association Day 2007 at Frankfurt Fair`s Congress Centre will start after a joint lunch and lecture by Dr. Harald Schotenroehr, HSMV Tax Consultants and Public Accountants Dusseldorf, on the topic of International Congresses in Germany. It will focus on the question of who should have organiser status – the international organisation based outside Germany, the national organisation or the PCO? After a coffee break there will be a lecture and discussion on Internal and External Communication.
Jurriaen Sleijster, Executive Vice President of the MCI Group, a world-wide group of event, association, marketing and communication management companies, and Hans H. Fenner, capita-Consulting Stuttgart, will sketch the communication tools that are necessary for meeting strategic goals. During the round-table talks in the afternoon delegates of the Association Day can discuss individual aspects more intensively.
Guests of the Association Day can choose between the individual German and English-speaking round-table discussions on the spot. The English-speaking programme will look into best practices of successful companies, risk management, negotiating techniques, new technologies and fiscal aspects.
