A new notion of golf<.> `courts` may see several new courses created on the island of Corfu. A British company, Golf Courts International, and local businessmen have been discussing a pioneering concept that would have an 18-hole course, to be called `court`, on land that is about one tenth that of the present day golf course.

While a traditional course requires some 150 acres, the new version, which would have the same length of play, would require only 15 acres, with the similar game possibilities.

The new court involves a combination of four greens and eight tee areas providing 18 individual holes and tees. Each hole uses a different pairing of tees and greens, which varies in both length and perspective. Playing time would be reduced greatly because of much less walking, permitting more people to utilize a court.

The Professional Golfers` Association (PGA) has endorsed the new plans.
