The HCCE<.>, now in its fifth year, is an exclusive line-up of European conference centres. Membership is conditional on a historic building, a location of cultural interest, modern facilities and equipment, and professional management. The accent is on quality, creativity and personal service.

The HCCE has recently gained two more recruits – the Palais de Beaumont Conference Centre, Pau, France and the Congress Casino Baden, Austria – bringing membership to 18 convention centres. The organisation has a presence in 12 European countries.

The HCCE is taking a high-profile approach to attracting new business. Following EIBTM in Geneva, appearances at the MPI and the ASAE in the States are scheduled, and apart from presentation and workshop for the French market during the HCCE/s Annual Meeting in Pau, study tours for Belgians and Americans organizers to member centres in Germany and Austria are planned.

This year will see an American sales offensive by the HCCE. The alliance announces its sales office in the States, represented by Bieneck International in Fredericksburg.

At the same time the HCCE is tightening the focus of its strategy. The attractiveness of members` historic buildings is taken as read, and the aim will now be to highlight the quality of their conference facilities and equipment, and the professionalism and innovativeness of their support services to increase meetings from the corporate and association market.
