As of May 24th, Iberia will ask all boarding passengers to show their national identity cards or passports to verify that their identities correspond to the data on their tickets and boarding cards.

This new regulation, introduced by Spain`s Civil Aviation Agency, will apply to all flights, regardless of the destination.

The Airport Security Commission of the Spanish Civil Aviation Agency has modified official security regulations, adding a new section entitled verification of documents.

To speed check-in and boarding procedures, Iberia will ask its customers to have their identity documents ready to show both at check-in counters and at boarding gates.

Passengers using automatic check-in machines or who check in online via Iberia.com must show their identity documents only at boarding gates.
