Especial emphasis will be given to the human side of tourist development on the two islands as well as promotion in Greece and abroad. Organisers will highlight projects undertaken on the islands, tourist infrastructure, cultural and historical aspects in addition to prospects for the staging of sporting events and conventions. Last summer Kefalonia saw the adaptation to film of the book Captain Correlli`s mandolin.
Both islands hosted increased tourist arrivals in the 2000 season and expect 2001 to prove even more fruitful.
