TAP Portugal, a renowned Star Alliance member, has opened two new ticket offices in Poland (Warsaw) and Russia (Moscow). For the representation in those countries, TAP has chosen Aviareps, the world’s leading airline and tourism management company. With immediate effect, dedicated Aviareps teams in Warsaw and Moscow are taking on responsibility for sales and bookings on behalf of TAP.
On June 9, 2009 TAP Portugal will begin flights between Warsaw and Lisbon with an Airbus A320, an aircraft with a capacity of 162 passengers. The service will run five times a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Only one day later (on June 10, 2009) the new Moscow-Lisbon route will be implemented. This connection will be operated on a daily basis, except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
“By signing the contract with Aviareps we aim to promote business and leisure travel from Poland and Russia to Portugal’s capital Lisbon, as well as other important Portuguese destinations like the Algarve, Porto, Madeira and the Azores. Via our hub in Lisbon, we aim to develop our international destinations in Brazil, Venezuela, the USA and Africa. As a plus, we are the only airline providing daily flights to eight different destinations in Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, S?o Paulo, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Fortaleza, Recife and Natal. The office openings in Warsaw and Moscow come therefore as a natural expansion of the TAP network in Eastern Europe,” explains Riccardo Lo Presti, General Manager for France, Poland and Russia at TAP Portugal.
