HF Holidays, the UK’s largest walking holiday organisation – and award-winning travel co-operative – reports a strong start to 2012 holiday sales and confirms the signing of a lease on another country house, bringing its portfolio of properties in the UK up to 20.
At the end of January, bookings for holidays in the UK are up 10 per cent compared to the same time last year, while overseas holidays are up seven per cent.
"We’re obviously delighted with the way 2012 sales have started, which also means that revenue is up 11 per cent on this time last year," says Chief Executive Brian Smith.
"The growth indicates that our new relationship with the Ramblers Association is reaping benefits for both organisations. Many of their members are discovering HF Holidays for the first time, and in turn, every HF Holiday booked by a Ramblers member earns a donation for the charity."
HF Holidays has also just signed the lease on the latest addition to its expanding UK property portfolio, the Longmynd Hotel in Church Stretton in Shropshire.
This 50-room property is set in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with superb views from its elevated site below the ridge of the famous Longmynd hill. HF Holidays’ walking operations at Longmynd start in June, and fully-inclusive breaks start at £269 per person.
This expansion in Shropshire is in addition to the recent takeover of Lulworth Mill House at Lulworth Cove, and – in 2011 – Craflwyn Hall at Bedgelert in Snowdonia and Dolserau Hall in mid-Wales.
HF Holidays also offers leisure activity breaks (everything from ‘mind and body’ holidays to music appreciation and bridge), cycling holidays and walking and multi-activity holidays for families.
