Three-times Flat racing champion Frankie Dettori has taken on a new role after becoming a golfing ambassador for Your Golf Travel – a move that will see one of horse racing’s global superstars team up with the world’s largest golf travel company.
Dettori, whose glittering career has included 14 English Classic winners, has followed in the footsteps of 2011 Open champion Darren Clarke by agreeing to be one of the figureheads of Your Golf Travel’s future promotional activities.
In addition to carrying the London-based company’s logo on his breeches, the 42-year-old will make regular appearances at its ‘Fairway to Furlong’ golf and horse racing events as well as being a frequent contributor to Your Golf Travel’s blog.
Dettori, who plays off a golf handicap of 18, is regarded as one of racing’s greatest ever jockeys having ridden more than 500 Group winners, and he memorably earned a place in history by riding all seven winners on British Champions Day at Ascot in 1996.
Dettori, who was awarded an MBE for his services to racing in 2000, said: “Having played golf all around the world, the opportunity to link-up with the world’s golf travel company was one that I couldn’t ignore.
“As well as my obvious passion for racing, I love to play golf whenever I can and I’m looking forward to working with the Your Golf Travel team to create many memorable events for fans of both sports in the years to come.”

Fairway to Furlong hosts regular events through the year, with the latest taking place on the eve of Royal Ascot on Monday June 17 with its Royal Ascot Golf Day, including 18 holes of golf at The Berkshire and a celebrity racing panel offering tips and advice for the week ahead.
