HMSHost plans new restaurants at Charlotte Douglas Intl Airport

These new offerings are part of a previously awarded contract to HMSHost to continue to operate and expand food and beverage offerings at Charlotte Douglas International Airport through 2030.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Global restaurateur HMSHost announced some of the new food and beverage options set to greet Charlotte Douglas International Airport travelers in the coming months. These new offerings are part of a previously awarded contract to HMSHost to continue to operate and expand food and beverage offerings at Charlotte Douglas International Airport through 2030.

HMSHost is excited to debut on-trend, regional and national restaurants and bars for Charlotte Douglas travelers as part of our plans to enrich the airport with new and innovative concepts,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Stephen Douglas. “Along with our restaurant partners, we thank Charlotte Douglas International Airport for working with us to continue evolving our award-winning dining program for travelers.”

These new offerings include two local breweries that will open in mid-2018. NoDa Brewing Company will open its first airport location in Concourse A Expansion, part of Destination CLT, a $2.5 billion capital investment program. A homegrown Charlotte brewery, NoDa Brewing Company’s new full-service restaurant and bar will offer travelers all-day dining options to complement the variety of award-winning, handcrafted small-batch craft beers it is known for throughout the Charlotte area. Additionally, Olde Mecklenburg Brewery will open a kiosk location in Concourse E. Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is one of the Charlotte area’s oldest and largest local breweries and will serve travelers an assortment of its craft beers at this new airport location.

Two additional Starbucks store locations will also greet travelers once the airport’s new Concourse A Expansion opens.

We are thrilled our partnership with HMSHost continues to offer a wide variety of delicious food choices for the Airport’s more than 44 million yearly passengers,” said Haley Gentry, CLT’s deputy aviation director and chief business and innovation officer. “As we renovate and expand the terminal, the new restaurants will only add to the Airport’s world-class appeal.”

Beginning in the spring, the Stella Artois inspired Chalice Bar will welcome guests with a selection of beers in Concourse C. Additionally, quick-service submarine sandwich shop Jersey Mike’s will open by mid-2018 in the Atrium.

Details about additional new HMSHost food and beverage locations coming to Charlotte Douglas will be announced later this year. At Charlotte Douglas, HMSHost offers its exclusive restaurant 1897 Market, recognized as 2016 Best New Food & Beverage Concept by both Airport Revenue News and Airports Council International-North America; and Dale Jr.’s Whisky River, recognized as Best Airport Bar by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards. A list of existing HMSHost-operated locations at Charlotte Douglas is available on the HMSHost location finder map.
