The three-year leasing agreement was signed by Alwan Al-Shaibani, owner of Universal Rent a Car, the Hertz franchisee in Yemen, Hassan Kabbani, chief executive officer of SabaFon, and the company`s board chairman, Sheikh Hamid Al Ahmar.
Forging ahead with plans to expand its car leasing and car rental business in the corporate sector, Hertz Yemen is providing Sabafon with Hyundai Sonatas, Suzuki Grand Vitaras and Nissan Pathfinders.
Saleem Sheikh, general manager of Hertz Yemen, said We`re currently in negotiation with a number of companies over leasing agreements, and expect a substantial increase in our corporate business over the next couple of years. The company also expects to boost car rentals by capitalizing on the increasing number tourists visiting Yemen.
Hertz Yemen has also honoured its top drivers at an official reception. Hazza Shaif and Adel Abdul Rahman received cash awards from Omar Mohammed Omar, vice chairman and managing director of the Universal Group of Companies. The awards were made to recognise accident free driving, and outstanding efforts in customer service.
With a head office in Sana`a, Hertz Yemen also has branches at Sana`a International Airport, in the port city of Aden, and Mukalla.
