Launch of the Moscow – Istanbul – Moscow flights has become a milestone event for one of the largest Turkish air carriers. For the first time in its twenty-year existence Pegasus performs regular flights between Russian capital and Turkey. The company intends to become the leader in the low-price segment of this popular route.

The flights will be performed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Passengers will be able to fly from the Domodedovo airport to the cultural and commercial centre of Turkey with Pegasus Airlines.

Today there is about one hundred air carriers operating all over the world that do not classify themselves as lowcosters, but offer passengers flights at the extremely attractive prices. For Russian market, development of low-cost sector is an important task. Moscow Domodedovo Airport takes an active part in these processes: the launch of the regular flights of another low-cost carrier has become one of important steps in this direction.

“Domodedovo welcomes a new partner – Pegasus. Flights to Istanbul perfectly fit into the airport route network development. Broader choice of flight and its costs on such a popular route is excellent news for air travellers”, notes Igor Borisov, Director of Moscow Domodedovo Airport.

Guliz Ozturk, Pegasus Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) stated that “We were looking forward to launch Pegasus flights to Moscow for a long time. Following an intense period of negotiations between partners we open this destination today. We hope that the ease of visa regime, growing Turkish investment in Russian economy, as well as its historical identity will make Moscow one of the most popular destinations for Turkish  guests. Similarly, Russian citizens will have an opportunity to fly at reasonable prices to Turkey, one of the most attractive destinations for rest and shopping”.

Istanbul, the ancient centre of the Byzantine Empire, has retained the beauty of the ancient architecture that perfectly mixes with modern buildings. It is often called a museum city: the Yerebatan Byzantine Palace, the Bosphorus Bridge along the Black Sea and other places of interest attract tourists from all around the world. The most interesting sightseeing is the unique Blue Mosque with six prayer-towers. One of the largest commercial centres of Turkey, Istanbul, is a popular place for people who like shopping: tourists can find here a large number of trade centres, stores and markets with rather reasonable prices.
