Runzheimer International acquires travel management technology firm ProcureApp Inc.

ProcureApp allows business travelers to use their favorite booking tools while ensuring negotiated discounts are applied and itinerary information is collected at the time of booking.

WATERFORD, WIS. – Runzheimer International, the global leader in employee mobility solutions, has acquired Chicago-based travel technology firm ProcureApp, Inc., a rising star of innovation in managed travel systems for business.

ProcureApp allows business travelers to use their favorite booking tools while ensuring negotiated discounts are applied and itinerary information is collected at the time of booking. It keeps pace with the trend of consumerism in the business travel industry while helping travel managers overcome challenges with policy compliance and loss of negotiated discounts with travel partners.

“The technology ProcureApp has developed is completely in line with our vision for the need in the business travel marketplace, and we see many opportunities to leverage the strengths of both firms for our clients,” says Greg Harper, CEO and President of Runzheimer International. “Workforce demographics are changing and demands are growing for more flexible approaches to travel booking,” Harper says. “ProcureApp offers a unique solution that brings the best of both worlds to an organization; travelers get the freedom to book travel directly through their favorite supplier websites while organizations continue to enjoy corporate discounts.”

Phil Hammer, the founder of ProcureApp, together with Betty Jones, a key leader with ProcureApp, will be joining the Product Management group at Runzheimer International, continuing to guide the evolution of the product while serving and growing the existing ProcureApp client base. Hammer was named one of the “25 Most Influential Industry Executives of 2013” by Business Travel News, and he was an inaugural member of 1871, Chicago’s Hub for Entrepreneurial Startups.

“Our product sets are highly complementary,” says Hammer. “The natural synergy between us opens many doors for innovation in mobility solutions. We embrace the Runzheimer vision of employee mobility and believe our approach is what the market wants – a real choice for business travelers.”
