Thales and Survey Analytics partner to improve the airline passenger experience

The passenger surveys will be implemented with a major airline by the end of 2013. Passengers flying later this year on the airline will be able to participate in surveys directly on seat backs.

SEATTLE – Survey Analytics, a leader in mobile survey technology and reporting, is partnering with leaders of In-Flight-Entertainment (IFE) provider Thales to launch in-flight passenger surveys. The Survey Analytics Enterprise Research Platform is a tool that Thales and other transportation industry leaders have implemented to gain feedback on passenger behaviors. With this real time in-flight data collection, Thales will have the ability to understand and improve passenger experiences.

The passenger surveys will be implemented with a major airline by the end of 2013. Passengers flying later this year on the airline will be able to participate in surveys directly on seat backs. Through custom modifications by Survey Analytics, the platform will collect real-time data with the Thales AVANT Android platform.

“Every industry – from travel to retail to healthcare – needs to be focused on understanding their customers to provide them with the ultimate brand experience,” said Vivek Bhaskaran, CEO of Survey Analytics. “Our partnership with Thales supports airlines with this charge by providing them with an enterprise-grade feedback system that will help enhance the flying experience.  Airlines now have the ability to actively listen to their passengers in real-time and proactively act on customer feedback. In simple terms, this onboard application makes engagement with customer easy.”

Powered by Survey Analytics’ survey, reporting and analytics tools, the user-friendly survey application supports 22 languages and provides the airline with the ability to follow up with passengers directly post-flight. With simple branching and logic setup, the survey will guide passengers through questions based on previous answers selected. Best-in-class intuitive reporting tools allow the airline to run cross-tabulations, banner/pivot tables, TURF analysis, data segmentation and trend analysis.

“This partnership enables Thales to provide best-in-class survey and usage static capabilities to our customers, assisting them in driving revenue by meeting the expectations of passengers. Survey Analytics is an outstanding operation that truly has opened the door to a new world of possibilities through the Thales AVANT Android platform,” said Dominique Giannoni, CEO of Thales’ In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity business.
